Tiki Paradise Pokie Review
One of the upcoming titles for 2016 from Playtech is Tiki Paradise, a 5×3 reel game that seems to draw inspiration from Polynesian culture, as suggested by its title. There isn’t much information out there on this game, only a few brief seconds of footage from a video posted to Playtech’s channel where they made public the new titles.
The snippets released showed a polished looking game, with design elements focusing on wood, with some tropical touches to keep it merry.
This is a welcome contrast from most Polynesian-inspired pokie machines, that often become these outrageous displays of color and gaudy tropical visual elements. The prevalence of wood and torches in the footage that we saw reminds us more of a night-time luau than a daytime Margaritaville beach party.
Developer
Playtech was founded back in 1999; that’s seventeen years ago this year. Since then, they have positioned themselves as one of the most important suppliers for online casino.
They not only develop games, like pokie machines, card games, and so on; but they also provide their own proprietary management software called IMS. How to Play It
Normally, Playtech features a standard user interface layout across all its games, with all user control dow at the bottom. This layout does not vary, even if the visual aspect of the individual items may change depending on the game.
In Tiki Paradise, Playtech appears to have ditched it’s standard layout, having moved balance and win indicators to the top of the screen.
None of the traditional buttons (spin, auto play, and Playtech’s Turbo Mode) appear on the announcement trailer, so we believe that Playtech may be experimenting with a new, touchscreen-optimized control scheme.

Summary
There’s very little information out there on this title, and we suspect this may be related to the opposition to its trademark application with OAMI. But the very little things that we know make this title certainly intriguing and very interesting.
Playtech One, the company’s omni-channel solution, seems like it will become the new normal in online casinos, a new standard for the industry.
The seeming experimentation with a new control scheme does look like a refreshing idea, specially for a company famous for its strict adherence to a given user interface layout.
